Shrimp a la Karl

Shrimps cooked with soda and vegetable oil are my favorite for lunch. I used to cook such food if I feel like I am sad or sentimental. I like the color of shrimps when already cooked. I like shrimps in medium sizes- not to big and not too small. As a seafood diet, cooking shrimp is also easy to do.

The things needed in cooking Shrimp a la Karl include cleaned half kilo shrimps, vegetable oil, 1 cup soda like Sprite, the usual spices like red bell pepper, garlic, onions, and seasoning to taste. Before frying the shrimps, just place it in a wok or pan, let simmer for a few minutes and then set aside. After that, fry the shrimps (saute) by adding the spices. When cooked, pour the soda and allow to simmer. Serve with steamed rice.

Shrimp a la Karl reminds me of one of the most common "tapas" of Spain: "Gambas al ajillo". Shrimp, lots of garlic, sweet paprika, red pepper flakes and olive oil. One of my favorite Spanish dishes.

I like seafood too! When we visited Mount Sea Resorts in Cavite, we've tried their delicious seafood. I was impressed! A lot of Cavite resorts offer delectable menu but I'm really hoping to be back in Mount Sea Resort. How about you?
